Description: “At the end of 2006 a group of Swedish community leaders joined with the College of Arts and Letters at San Diego State University to start the Swedish Center. Their goal was, and is, to promote Sweden and Swedish interests among present and future generations.  By bringing together the academic world with different Swedish grass root organizations and the community, Swedish Center now plays a leading roll in most things Swedish in Southern California. The Swedish Center Board is made up of representatives from different organisations in the San Diego area.  Among them are the Consulate of Sweden, The Swedish American Chamber of Commerce (SACC), Swedish Women´s Educational Association (SWEA), San Diego State University (SDSU), House of Sweden and the Vasa Order of America. Erik Nowacki is the Chairman of Swedish Center and also the Swedish Consul in San Diego” (source: Website).
