Buffalo Bill Cody Gravesite
Website : Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave
Description : “Visit the one, and the only, grave of William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody. By his request, Buffalo Bill was buried on Lookout Mountain in 1917, overlooking the Great Plains and the Rockies. Feel the breezes from the high peaks of the Continental Divide, smell the Ponderosa Pines, and watch the mountain wildlife, all just thirty minutes from downtown Denver” (source: Website). A great museum and tomb atop a mountain with a panoramic view of the Rockies as well as Denver below. Excellent for families to see. Buffalo Bill represents an archetype of the heroic white explorer. He was a friend of Bram Stoker, who was inspired to write Dracula because he saw Dracula (Vlad Tepes) as a similar archetype, fighting the Turks in the “Wild East.”
