Website : Independence National Historical Park Website
Description : “Since 1951 this building and this long-silent tocsin have been maintained by the American people as part of Independence National Historical Park. The park includes three square blocks in the City of Philadelphia where the dream of a free country of independent citizens became fact. Here were written the two documents, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, on which the foundations of our country rest. Here, from 1790 to 1800, when Philadelphia was the nation’s capital, the principle of governance based on the rights of individual citizens was first tested” (source: Website). Inspiration for our continuing struggle for freedom by European Americans.

Website : Valley Forge National Historic Park Website
Description : Washington and his troops stayed here. What they endured that winter was beyond comprehension and the bravery and fortitude these men displayed was beyond measure. It makes one wish that those characteristics were in all of us. The Website for the Park is succinct: “Valley Forge National Historical Park commemorates more than the sacrifices and perseverance of the Revolutionary War generation; it honors the ability of [European American] citizens and their leaders to pull together and overcome adversity during extraordinary times.”

Website : Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave
Description : “Visit the one, and the only, grave of William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody. By his request, Buffalo Bill was buried on Lookout Mountain in 1917, overlooking the Great Plains and the Rockies. Feel the breezes from the high peaks of the Continental Divide, smell the Ponderosa Pines, and watch the mountain wildlife, all just thirty minutes from downtown Denver” (source: Website). A great museum and tomb atop a mountain with a panoramic view of the Rockies as well as Denver below. Excellent for families to see. Buffalo Bill represents an archetype of the heroic white explorer. He was a friend of Bram Stoker, who was inspired to write Dracula because he saw Dracula (Vlad Tepes) as a similar archetype, fighting the Turks in the “Wild East.”
